Spending the majority of my youth growing up in the heart of the grain belt definitely cultivated a deep love for all things upland hunting.  I was able to purchase my first German Shorthaired Pointer eight years ago and never looked back.  The breed is incomparable in tenacity and pure instinctual hunting drive. Four years ago I was able to acquire my first purebred AKC Female, and what a superb hunter and companion she has become.  I kid you not, despite such major fluctuations in Iowa pheasant population the past couple decades, this dog was able to rack up 70 wild birds in 2018, and over 50 wild Iowa birds in 2019.

 

After befriending a neighbor and fellow GSP breeder/enthusiast soon after moving to Maxwell, I was presented with an opportunity to dabble in obedience and basic hunting training.  Apart from receiving a greatly rewarding mentorship in all things GSP, this has also opened the door to some superb genetics.
